RENTAL POLICY
NO PETS, PLEASE: We regret that we cannot allow pets due to some guests allergies and possible flea infestation, as well as the extra cleaning involved in our limited time between guests.
NO SMOKING IN THE HOUSE, PLEASE: There are good smoking areas on our three decks including the covered deck.
CLEAN-UP POLICY: RENTERS WILL FIND OUR HOME VERY CLEAN ON ARRIVAL. OUR USUAL POLICY HAS BEEN "LEAVE IT AS YOU FOUND IT--CLEAN!" Most of our past renters have elected to do their own cleaning and laundry, following our "Check List for cleaning".
PARTIAL CLEAN-UP SERVICE: Is available on certain days. Renters still do basic kitchen cleanup, change beds and start the washing. Our cleaning lady will finish the cleaning and laundry. Charges vary according to amount of time needed for clean-up.
FULL CLEAN-UP SERVICE: May be available if we are able to find more cleaning help. It would be $60 for full clean-up, but we still need help picking up the kitchen and running dishwasher. If other renters are due the same day, the first renters may need to leave early to allow time for a full clean-up.
SEPTIC SYSTEM: Our renters need to be aware that we have a septic system as no sewer is available in our area. We do have city water, however. Our system seems to work well when people are careful, and we want to continue to be trouble free.
LONG DISTANCE PHONE CALLS: Please use your long distance calling card or prepaid card.
DAMAGE AND BREAKAGE: We have had excellent renters for the past 15 years. If people break things, they have been good about reporting it, and have made an effort to pay for them. THEREFORE WE DO NOT CHARGE A SECURITY DEPOSIT AT PRESENT, but ask that our renters inform us when something is not working or broken, so that we can replace or repair it promptly. We ask for your cooperation.
SAFETY ON BEACH AND STEPS TO BEACH: For safety, we have completely fenced our front yard on the bluff, with a security gate for small children. We also maintain our wooden walks, and combination path and stairs to beach to the best of our ability with railing and a gravel surface. But with heavy rains, or even light moisture, EVERYTHING CAN BE SLIPPERY. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AT ALL TIMES.
CHILDREN (AND TEENS TOO) ALWAYS NEED ADULT SUPERVISION ON THE BEACH! THE OCEAN AND SURF CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AT CERTAIN HIGH TIDES AND IN STORMY WEATHER. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN NO ONE SHOULD BE DOWN ON THE BEACH AT ALL.
